The following outlines steps to take if you have suffered a workers compensation injury and have already made a claim for compensation.

  • 1. Obtain a First Certificate of Capacity from your General Practitioner or other treatment provider.
  • 2. Complete a Form 2B, Workers' Compensation (WC) Claim form.
  • 3. Give both the First Medical Certificate and (WC) Claim form to your employer who has 5 working days to pass these documents on to their Workers Compensation insurer.
  • 4. The insurer will assess the claim and advise you of their decision regarding liability within 14 days of receiving the claim.
  • 5. Liability can be accepted, disputed or pended. It is important to obtain legal advice in any event, but especially if your claim is pended or disputed.
